Winter 2023/2024 Real Estate Update

I spent the last two weeks of 2023 at Eagle Point enjoying a mix of work-life and family-time. Although we could only ski some of Eagle Point’s expansive terrain, the mountain was buzzing with people, and the condos were full. We all wore smiles as we schussed through the holidays with family and friends thanks to the snowmaking system and water storage pond installed in 2018. This marks the second December opening saved by snowmaking, our fallback plan when we receive insufficient natural snowfall to operate for the holidays. All of us staying at the resort shared a collective thankfulness that it was just snowy enough for a great time in the mountains with family and friends.

The community of Aspen Crest, where I live, is accessed by the ski run Glacier Glade, one of the primary beneficiaries of our snowmaking system. Accordingly, Glacier Glade’s snow allowed owners and guests to ski right up to their properties for the ultimate mountain experience. I must shamelessly admit that the ski-in/ski-out lifestyle at Eagle Point is very cool. You come and go with ease from the slopes to your home throughout the day. My family and I would switch between eating lunch in the lodge one day and making lunch at our home the next, all while skiing and riding in and out. Forget your balaclava or some handwarmers? No problem. Just ski home quickly and grab them! As we continue the rollout of ski-in/ski-out properties around the resort, I’m confident that Eagle Point will become well-known for its collection of amazing properties and the unique ski-in/ski-out experiences they offer.

A look at future ski-in/ski-out opportunities at Eagle Point Resort

I was quite pleased with the operation during the opening stretch. Both the Skyline and Monarch lifts enjoyed their smoothest operation ever, courtesy of their new electrical interfaces. Guests and mountain locals alike gave great reviews about the new General Store in Canyonside Lodge, which will save many people the 18-mile trip down the mountain for basic groceries and supplies. Stop by next time you visit to see the store’s offerings.

I’ll conclude the resort update with probably the most notable news in Eagle Point’s history. The resort and the community of Beaver County look forward to late January 2024 when Olympics legend Shaun White will visit the resort for a few days in connection with a private takeover of Eagle Point. You can read more about Shaun's visit in this Forbes article. I am really excited to ride Eagle Point with Shaun White.

Detailed below is a fourth quarter 2023 update of real estate activity in our community.

These lots extend the iconic viewscape of homes that currently line the Glacier Glade ski run. Prices range from $400,000 to $630,000. I’m looking at a few opportunities to partner with one or more custom home builders to design and build a home for sale in the new subdivision. We see a lot of buyers who want finished homes, and there is no cabin inventory at all at Eagle Point. If you are looking for a new ski-in/ski-out home for delivery in 2025, please reach out to me.
